No-one can deny that the sensation of
one’s feet hardly touching the pavement or feeling
light-headed intrinsically mingle within the emotion of arousal.
This longing to be enthralled, which plagues the innermost
depths of each one of us, is nevertheless different from the
longing for death, because of its ambiguity: of course it is
a longing to die, but it is also a longing to live with
ever-greater intensity to the limits of what is
possible and impossible.
